Really impressive album that showcases an artist at a creative peak. The range of sounds and moods they explore here is remarkable, and what's more impressive is that it all feels cohesive rather than scattered. The transitions between tracks are so smooth you barely notice them. There are a handful of moments where the ambition slightly exceeds the execution — a lyric that doesn't quite land, a sonic idea that needed a bit more development — but these are minor blemishes on an otherwise excellent record. The standout tracks here are among the best songs released in the last decade.
Terrific front to back. There's a reason people keep coming back to this.
There's a certain kind of album that doesn't just sit in your collection — it becomes part of your identity. This is one of those albums for me. I first heard it during a really formative time in my life and it shaped how I think about what music can be and do. The ambition here is enormous but what's remarkable is that the execution matches it completely. There's not a single moment that feels forced or unnecessary. The sequencing deserves special mention. The way the energy builds and releases across the tracklist is masterful. You can tell this was crafted as a complete experience, not just a collection of songs. Every track is essential to the whole, and removing any one of them would fundamentally change what the album is.
A few tracks could have been cut without losing anything, but what's here is largely excellent. The production is gorgeous and the performances are top-notch. One of the better albums I've heard recently.
There's a before and after with this album. It changed everything.
Perfect from front to back. Not a single moment wasted.
The kind of album that makes you want to pick up an instrument.
Not quite their best work but honestly that's a high bar. This is still a fantastic album by any reasonable standard. The songwriting is sharp, the sound is distinctive, and it's got great replay value.
A high watermark for the genre. Essential listening.
I played this for my partner who doesn't even like this genre and they were blown away. That's the sign of a truly great album — it transcends taste. The hooks are undeniable, the depth is real, and the replay value is infinite.
